In this opportunity, we will share valuable information on how to help Venezuelan refugees in the U.S. through assistance programs, donations, volunteering, education and much more.
It is a set of tools, facilities and humanitarian assistance that have allowed us to provide support to immigrants from Venezuela and Latin America.
Here are some ideas on how to help Venezuelan refugees in the U.S. and other regions of the world…
4 Ways to help Venezuelan refugees in the U.S.
1- Support Ven Conmigo Foundation’s Donation Programs
With your contribution to Ven Conmigo Foundation’s programs, you will be directly helping immigrants who arrive without belongings, clothing and food in the United States.
With your contribution, we will also be able to provide them with legal assistance through Temporary Protected Status for immigrants (TPS), which allows them to settle and work legally in the country.
2- Be part of the UN “Together” Campaign
The United Nations is currently carrying out the “Together” initiative under the slogan: “Respect, security and dignity for all”. This is a program in which the UN seeks to end the discrimination suffered by people in conditions of refuge and migration.
This initiative applies to immigrant fathers, mothers and children, as well as to educators who want to volunteer in the United States and other parts of the world. To support this cause, all you have to do is visit the Together website.
3- Become a Ven Conmigo Foundation Volunteer
Another way to support immigrants is through volunteer actions. At Ven Conmigo Foundation, we count on our volunteer program to offer legal advice and information about job opportunities. We also receive food, clothing and medicine from our community of volunteers and donors.
We know how difficult it is to migrate, and for this reason, volunteering with an organization like ours allows us to help refugees.
4- Spread the word about free and accessible English language learning in the U.S.
Although for some people learning English may be simple and temporary, for many other immigrants in the United States it is a very difficult task. For this reason, Ven Conmigo has allies willing to teach English to refugees.
In case you know of institutions or NGOs that promote learning the language for free or accessible, share them so that many immigrants can have better job opportunities and at the same time can make a social life. Finally, if you identify with any of the ways on how to help Venezuelan refugees in the U.S. and other regions of the world, do not hesitate to do so, because helping others will always be a great satisfaction.
